Osteopathy treatment to cure pain in the cervical spine or cervicalgia
Cervical pain or cervicalgia is the manifestation of inflammation, trauma, osteoarthritic processes or muscular problems in the area of the cervical spine, whereby movement of the neck is limited to those positions in which pain is avoided.
There is often an extension of the pain through to the shoulders and upper extremities, and it could even affect the arms, forearms and hands. In these cases, it is likely that the ailment is in fact a cervicobrachialgia, caused by the pinching or impingement of a nerve.
In some cases, compression of the musculature causes cephalalgia, nausea or vertigo.
Osteopathic treatment is presented as a good option for curing long term and recurrent cervical pain.
