During menstruation the volume and weight of the uterus increases, and therefore causes a deficit in mobility which can trigger very uncomfortable lumbar pain. This is due to the fact that the uterus is solidly joined to the pelvis, and therefore movements that take place in the pelvis will impact on the uterus and vice-versa.
These situations can impact to a greater or lesser degree in successive periods, and therefore attending an osteopathy consultation can be the best way to recover mobility and overcome menstrual pain.
